Diospyros texana (Texas Persimmon) Live Plant in half qt pot
In a half quart tree pot.
This species of persimmon is native to Texas. Fruits are edible and taste great, but they are small and most fruit goes to supporting wildlife.
Texas Persimmon is dioecious; individual plants are either male (producing only pollen) or female (producing only fruit). If you are wanting a female (fruiting tree) you will need a male tree to pollinate as well. If you live in the native range and there are other Texas Persimmon trees nearby then you may get lucky with just one tree. Unfortunately there is no way to tell the sex of the tree until it flowers.
Hardiness Zones: 7-9
